JA Team Welcomes Sarah, Kori, Steven & Desiree

SEATTLE – Johnston Architects has hired Sarah Burk, Kori Keller, and Steven Long as Project Designers, and Desiree Ward as Office Coordinator.
Sarah Burk, Associate AIA, received both her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from Montana State University in Bozeman. She brings with her three years of experience in urban infill, multi-family developments across Seattle, including rowhouses, townhomes, and apartments. Burk is currently working on a 116-unit mixed-use project in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood and performing feasibility studies for numerous development sites. Burk is a member of the AIA Seattle Young Architects Forum and serves on YAF’s ARE Workshop Series subcommittee.
Kori Keller, Associate AIA, also earned her Master of Architecture at Montana State University in Bozeman. She brings over five years of experience to JA, including design and project management of multi-family developments, single-family residences, hospitality, dining, and amenity spaces. Keller is currently working on the conceptual design of a multi-family townhouse development in Wenatchee and a destination community near Lake Chelan.
Steven Long, Associate AIA, is a Washington native with a Bachelor of Architecture from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He holds nearly a decade of experience in high-end residential architecture and interior design for custom homes across the Seattle region. Long is currently designing a custom residence and guest cabins near Quilcene Bay and developing construction documents for a 164-unit mixed-use development in Mercer Island.
Desiree Ward holds a BA in Organizational Sciences from the University of Idaho in Moscow, with a focus on Nonprofit Management and a Minor in Communications. Ward spent most of her career working in the nonprofit sector and this experience further strengthens JA’s social justice initiatives. She is responsible for office event planning and coordination as well as general business, accounting, and IT support. Ward is assisting JA’s team as they work remotely and is heading up the firm’s committee for the safe reopening of the office in accordance with the State of Washington guidelines.
