TIDELINES
The predominant design gesture in the Friends of Waterfront Seattle community information space, Tidelines hangs just beneath the ceiling, filtering light through to the center of the space while creating subtle shadows that emphasize the sculpture’s wavelike form. This undulating shape is created from a series of 1/2” white birch plywood panels that gives the illusion of waves without a literal representation. This piece informs the shapes of all the other installation pieces through nods to water, waves, and gently rolling organic forms.
