The developer of Stonewater spent many years living on a house boat and sought to recreate that community experience on dry land. Four triplexes look outward to capture views, but they also look inward to a meandering brook. While water and walkways are reversed in this project, the sense of community found on the houseboat dock has emerged. The inner water court occupies the lid of a 24 car parking garage. The project is rendered in the craftsman tradition of the Northwest paired beautifully with the exterior courtyard. The 12 units that make up the Stonewater community have been recognized by the Seattle Time and American Institute of Architecture as
Home of the Year.
